"Why don't the other kids like me? I try really hard and I say all the right things. Like "you rock Chica" and "fabulous", and address them as "hey Girl" I am fairly new to the boutique world, My prices are okay, my sewing up to snuff. I make money. My use of the english language has been tweaked to include internet and boutique speak. LOL , (my DS, and my DD were rotfl, all I said was WTF when DH said TTYL, BRB.)I have educated myself to know the differences between chenille and duponi. I realize the secret fabrics are always bed linens, and that the ruffle skirt will only get dollars if done with a character. I spent dollars on a new camera, bought the ebook. My pictures Rock. My me page

Getting in the right group may be hazardous to your business. The group you think you want to be in , may have the meanest bitch as a leader, full of backstabbers or worse yet you could befriend a habitual liar and get drawn into DRAMA city. Just keep at it, the right group may come along and recognize your talents. If it never happens..YOU may just be better off...

an interesting topic cropped up recently...
"ONE" designer asked the group if anyone could point in her in the direction of a "certain fabric resource". Another designer in the group got very uptight when many members of the group offered up websites. As she did alot of work researching to find these sights.
I recently got an email from someone asking me where I buy my blanks.. Well I thought about it a while and decided to just give her the name after all... anyone who buys my items will see the tag.
YES I really wish the place I get my garments was wholesale only. Making it harder for just anyone to buy them. But it isn't. For the amount of money I spend there it should be. LOL I am a walking advertisement for their business. I too did my research. When I started doing clothing pre 1998 you had to go to the library and find your suppliers or trade shows. You couldn't just ask a group or do a google search, I did resent people asking. You felt obligated to answer them. Then you create your own competition.. NOW it is so easy for anyone to find anything online, secrecy what's the point??
SO what's the deal here?? What do ya think...?

Are Parents responsible for their kids

Do you believe that parents need to take more responsibility for their kids (actions & outcome) rather than get upset at corporations or business? Case in point there was family that was tossed off of Air Trans, because their child would not settle down and threw a tantrum that caused a 15 minute delay in departure. The child did not want to be buckled in and was uncooperative. Much to the delight of the other 112 passengers they were asked to deplane.
Another case in the news was of a restaurant owner asking a family not to return to the restaurant, because the kids were running around in the restaurant and climbing the pipes that were in the restaurant using the wall as a foot path like Batman would. After they were finished with their meal, he asked that they not return. He has even posted a sign stating something to the effect that kids are welcome but must keep their hands to themselves. The surprising part is that in both situations the response has been overwhelming positive for the business.
As a parent I think that we have lost the sense of responsibility. We are quick to sue or be upset. Maybe we should stop to think how we inconvenience others. What about the dangers with kids running around in a restaurant? If a server trips over a kid and spills hot food on your kid then what…?

What you'll need:
Old sweater
Material for lining
Needle & thread
Beads or embellishments
Cut a rectangle which measures 6 x 13 inches from the sweater and lining. Your seam allowance will be 1/2 inch on each side.
Fold the sweater material in half and sew up the side 4 inches starting at the fold using a 1/2 seam allowance.
Fold the lining material in half and sew up the side apprx. 3.75 inches starting at the fold using a 1/2 seam allowance.
Slip the lining into the sweater portion of the purse. Slip stitch the lining to the sweater material around the top and the sides.
Once you've completed the purse portion, you can now fit it into the purse frame. Go slowly as the material can fall out of the frame (if you're using one from M & J. Tall Poppy Crafts frames are crimped over the material with pliers).
Now stitch the frame to the purse through the loops on the frame. Make sure you stitch the side gromment of the purse frame into the purse body to make it secure.
