On the Road Again

Will you be traveling with your family this summer?
Here are some tips for traveling with small children
We hope you find them helpful!

*Pack a night light. Small children may have a hard time feeling comfortable in a hotel room, especially in the dark in unfamiliar surroundings. Pack a night light and help shed some light on the room so it's not so scary in the dark.

*Air Freshener. If you're going on a roadtrip with a wee one in diapers and on-the-road diaper changes will be needed, pack several zip lock quart size bags with a dryer sheet in each. When you have a dirty diaper, pop it in a bag and seal. This will keep the odor contained to the bag and if any does escape it will smell like a mountain breeze (LOL)

*While traveling try to follow the same schedule for naps if at all possible. Some routine is good for children and helps you keep your sanity.

*Don't try to pack too much or too many activities into one day. If possible, schedule one big event/sidetrip/activity for each day and let the rest of the day fall into place. Too much activity can overstimulate children and we all know what that means...
"when mama ain't happy...ain't nobody happy!" (LOL)

*Snack on this: Instead of buying the expensive individual serving snack packages, before you leave home, buy a large back and split into individual snack size zip top bags. It will save you a lot of money in the long run.
